About “Antiquity, Vol No. 1”
This set of short sonic paraphrases was inspired by the discover of my dad’s dusty Ramsa mixing console in his garage. This unique hardware from the 80’s lends a blurred, hazy quality to recorded sound that inspired images of forgotten worlds, ancient legends and mythic heroes.
The music in ‘Antiquity, Vol No. 1’ can be divided into four categories, those being:
The melodic narratives found in Jupiter, Ceres, and Vesta
The ambient “interludes” of Minerva, Diana and Juno
The drones of Mars, Juno and Neptune
The stream of consciousness present in Venus, Mercury and Apollo
Taken as a whole, the album is designed to be explored as a sonic encyclopedia of a lost world.
